From a Backyard Grill
to a Michigan Icon
It all started in 2012 when Marcus "Wing King" Johnson started hosting Friday night cookouts in his Warren backyard. Friends would travel from across Macomb County just for his wings — each one meticulously coated in homemade sauces that balanced heat, sweetness, and depth in ways that nobody else could replicate.
After years of requests to open a restaurant, Marcus finally took the leap in 2015, converting a small corner spot on Van Dyke Ave into the very first Wing Snob location. The lines on opening day wrapped around the block. Word spread fast, and within six months, the original location was packed every night of the week.
Today, Wing Snob has grown into Warren's most beloved wing destination, but our soul remains unchanged. Every sauce is still crafted in-house, every wing is still made to order, and every customer who walks through our doors still gets the same love Marcus put into those backyard cookouts a decade ago.

The Backyard Beginnings
Marcus Johnson starts hosting legendary Friday night wing cookouts in Warren, attracting fans from all over Macomb County with his one-of-a-kind homemade sauces.
Wing Snob Opens Its Doors
The first Wing Snob restaurant opens at 30800 Van Dyke Ave. Opening day sees lines wrap around the block, and the original menu of 12 sauces sells out within hours.
"Best Wings in Metro Detroit" Award
Detroit Free Press readers vote Wing Snob the best wings in Metro Detroit for the first time — an honor we've defended every year since. The sauce lab expands to 25 varieties.
Catering & Events Launch
Wing Snob's catering division launches, bringing our legendary wings to corporate events, weddings, and game-day parties across Southeast Michigan.
Online Ordering Goes Live
We launch our full online ordering system, making it easier than ever for customers to get Wing Snob delivered right to their doorstep across Warren and surrounding areas.
50,000 Customers Milestone
